Yay, we've gotten off to a great start! Now we need someone to step up and tackle a third question.
Here's a recap of the guidelines.
What: Snag a question from the list and write something up that addresses the topic.
Who: If you've got a fair amount of writing experience under your belt, you are absolutely welcome to volunteer.
How: Pick ANY question from the list that you feel like you can answer based on your own experience writing fic. You don't have to cover all the angles -- just enough to set up a discussion.
When: Now! *g* We'd like to see your post go up any time between 2/23 and 2/28!
Format guidelines: Please put the question in and behind the cut and the general topic in the subject line (use #1 as a template if you like). If you'd like to use specific examples to illustrate a point, it would probably be best to make them up for the sake of discussion. Critiquing pro-fic is one thing, but I'm of a mind that fanfic is a gift of love and ripping it apart without authorial permission (and participation) is just not cool. Besides, most of us know each other, and hi, we're the fandom of relentless, Fraser-like courtesy, yes? *g*
Again, this is a Q&A series, so the Question AND the Answer should inspire discussion. You don't need to cover every angle in your answer -- just offer your take on the solution and open the floor for comments to explore it further. :D
It's first come, first serve, so if you're up for doing the next one, please comment here!
Thanks!! :D
ETA: Anyone can add more questions to the list at any time! Just leave a comment in that post.
ETA #2:
vienna_waits has asked to be on deck for the exposition question the FOLLOWING week, and I'm cool with that. But we still need someone to grab a question to respond to sometime between 2/23 and 2/28! YAY
sprat to the rescue with kissing! Woohoo!! \o/

Date: 2007-02-22 04:23 pm (UTC)4. How to know when you've reached the end. I often cut off as soon as I see an exit sign, but sometimes that's too early, but I don't figure that out until much later.
Since I've done this topic before on a writers' list, I've got it pretty well written out, so I could do it at any time, now or a couple weeks out.
