Admin: volunteer for question #2
Feb. 13th, 2007 04:22 pmIf you'd like to volunteer for the next question, please read the following and then comment below.
What: I'm looking for a volunteer to tackle a craft question from the list.
Who: If you've got a fair amount of writing experience under your belt, please feel free to volunteer.
How: Pick ANY question from the list that you feel like you can answer based on your own experience writing fic.
When: I would prefer it if we left at least a couple of days between the posting of answers so we all can have an opportunity to discuss one question before getting swept up in the next one.
It's Tuesday afternoon now, so if you want to go next, plan to post your answer sometime between Friday (2/16) and next Monday (2/19).
As soon as you post your answer, I'll post another volunteer call. I'm doing it this way because I'm more comfortable with people replying with "yes, I can do this right now and post it in two days" than trying to extract a future commitment. (If someone else grabs a topic you want to write about, never fear! Just post your thoughts in the comments of that post and we'll have a fabulous discussion!)
Format guidelines: Please put the question in and behind the cut and the general topic in the subject line (use #1 as a template if you like). If you'd like to use specific examples to illustrate a point, it would probably be best to make them up for the sake of discussion. Critiquing pro-fic is one thing, but I'm of a mind that fanfic is a gift of love and ripping it apart without authorial permission (and participation) is just not cool. Besides, most of us know each other, and hi, we're the fandom of relentless, Fraser-like courtesy, yes? *g*
Again, this is a Q&A series, so the Question AND the Answer should inspire discussion. You don't need to cover every angle in your answer -- just offer your take on the solution and open the floor for comments to explore it further.
Thanks!! :D
