My Beta is a lot like your mackiedockie, at least she was in the beginning :) A ten page chapter would come back nearly 15 pages due to her corrections and comments, and BOY, seeing all that red ink was intimidating! But she could be tough when I needed her to be, less pushy when I was frustrated to the gills. She let me learn the hard way the evils of song!fic (and I deserved it) and prodded me to keep writing when I wanted to chuck it all.
