Oh, that's a lovely example. I wanted to pull something from a secondary character from that bit (just because so many of my examples were from Fraser or Ray pov), but if I hadn't used "The Delivery" "A Fine Romance" is a great alternative. Especially because Ray *isn't* dumb, and yet manages to get it all spectacularly wrong.
If I'd been thinking, I'd have gone into the ways that fanfic allows the author to do some interesting things with the baised narrator, because we share a general understanding of the characters that can make for some great disconnects between what we collectively know to be "true" and what the characters can see.
